Wild Awake will provide the early foundations for artists to go on and explore web3 tools and technology as part of their approach. It will help artists develop their own idea of what a healthy long term career can be, and how retaining creative control and the ownership of their work can be central to that. The project starts with high quality, low edition releases of new artists starting their journey of exploration using web3 tools. Wild Awake isn’t genre-bound, but takes inspiration from culture defining music labels that have focussed on showcasing innovative music and integrating that into a broader movement. 

Shenkin, the first release from Iris Ell and Frida Melando, is a song for the tensely cinematic late-night walk back from a rave, when the crush of bodies gives way to feeling empty, lucid, and worn. Born during lockdown as a trans-Atlantic collaboration, it was first recorded during the summer of 2021 in Tel Aviv over a series of all-nighters where the pair played with new vocal rhythms and production styles. After years of intermittent collaboration, Shenkin is Ell and Melando's debut track, in which intimate vocals, brash bass, and plucked Oud build to a dizzying 80s dance sequence.
